Our health and safety depends on a strong and efficient nursing workforce. National projections predict a shortage of over one million nurses by the year 2020. In our region, Missouri is already feeling the impact of the nursing shortage, while Kansas will start to experience the magnitude in the next couple of years. The Bi-State Nursing Workforce Innovation Center is dedicated to improving the nursing environment in Kansas and Missouri in order to retain quality nurses within our communities. None of us have all the solutions, but together we can create a new way of thinking about these complex issues.
